From 13 to 16 October, the Piscina & Wellness 2015 trade exhibit once again brought together experts from the pool sector from all over the world. Held every two years, this 12th edition gave centre stage to the wellness sector and clearly demonstrated that internationalisation is one of its main driving forces.
During three event-packed days, 287 exhibitors from 27 different countries – who represented 449 companies – came together in Catalonia’s capital city to present and discover the latest trends in innovative and sustainable water management.
In comparison with the previous edition held in 2013, these figures show a growth in attendance of 13%, an increase that reflects the recovery of the sector, whose sales during the first six months of the year increased by 8%.
Without a doubt, one of the greatest attractions at the exhibit was the Innovation Zone, an area devoted to interconnectivity in which projects were displayed that apply what is known as the Internet of Things to pools and wellness. One of the presentations that stirred up most expectations was that of Fluidra Connect, a pioneering system and exponent of the Internet of Pools that makes it possible to carry out all maintenance work of pools remotely.
The Innovation Zone was also the place where the results of the Piscina & Wellness 2015 Awards were announced. The award ceremony was held on 14 October at Barcelona’s Palacio de Pedralbes. Fluidra obtained a commendation in the Sustainable Product category for its all-in-one treatment system for public pools, Freepool.
